What Happens After You Complete the NY 5-Hour Online Pre-Licensing Course?
Once you’ve finished all nine modules, passed the quizzes, and completed the identity verification steps, your course status will be marked “complete.” At that point, we take care of the rest.
As a New York State DMV-approved provider, we are authorised to report your completion directly to the DMV. There’s no final exam, no forms to mail, and no need to print anything.
Here’s exactly how the process works after you’ve completed the course.

Automatic Submission to the DMV
Your course completion is sent electronically to the NY DMV using your learner permit number and personal details provided during registration.
This typically happens within 24 to 48 hours of finishing the course. You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation once all course components are successfully completed.
There’s no physical certificate — the DMV accesses your course record digitally.

No Certificate Needed for Your Road Test
You do not need to bring any paperwork to your road test. The DMV will see your course status in their internal system.
When you go to schedule your test — either online or by phone — they will verify that you’ve completed the 5-hour course. If they don’t yet see it, give it a full 48 hours and try again.
If you run into an issue, visit our Refund Policy & Duplicate Certificate Requests page for guidance.

Confirming That Your Completion Was Submitted
We recommend saving the confirmation screen or email after you finish the course. If you want to double-check your completion status:
• Log into your course dashboard to see your completion history
• Wait the full 48-hour window for DMV processing
• Contact our Customer Service & Technical Support team if the DMV still hasn’t received it
We’re happy to re-verify and resend the submission if needed.

When to Schedule Your Road Test
Once the DMV has received your course record, you can schedule your NY road test either online through the DMV scheduling portal or by calling their office directly.
